Mr Andrew Hodges is a plastic surgeon from the UK who now works and lives in Uganda.
Mr Hodges first moved to Uganda in 1992 as a General Surgeon,
working in a mission hospital close to the Congo border for 7 years.
He developed an interest in reconstructive surgery during his time there and returned to UK to undergo a full training in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, receiving his FRCS plast and specialty certification in 2004.
He then returned to Uganda with the disability charity CBM to start a new plastic surgery unit.
This has developed and in 2012 a plastic surgery training program was commenced. 6 students have graduated and there are presently 9 students in training.
Mr Hodges is interested in the full spectrum of Plastic Surgery in a resource poor setting but with a particular interest in major reconstructions and microsurgery.
